Derek Poore, a native of Russellville, Ky., has spent the last three years as a reporter at The (Louisville) Courier-Journal, covering amateur, prep and outdoor sports. Derek believes strong audio-visual elements are a necessity in modern journalism and at the C-J he regularly produces videos and multimedia slide shows as companion pieces to his stories.
Derek is a 2005 graduate of the University of Kentucky’s School of Journalism. He was a reporting intern at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, The Cincinnati Post and The Paducah Sun.
