Mountain Workshops

Tom Eblen is a columnist who writes about Kentucky issues and people for the Lexington Herald-Leader. Before that, he spent nearly 10 years as the newspaper’s managing editor, including two years as acting editor.

Before returning to his hometown in 1998, Tom worked for 14 years as a reporter and editor at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and five years as a reporter and correspondent at The Associated Press.

Tom shoots all of the photos for his columns and contributes other photos for the paper, as he sometimes did for the AP and AJC when he was a reporter there.

A 1980 WKU graduate, Tom has been a writing coach at The Mountain Workshops more than 10 times over the past 20 years.
